Step One...

So while blogger PMS-ed.. Im going to blogged on Facestalk. So i thought i would move that post over to here..

Anyway, It has begun. The first of my 'outing'.

Deep breath.

THIS- Is / was Phoenixs room.. Slash storage for craft, wedding deorations and clothes.
The only time he used his room was to sleep.. So its been on my 'list of things to worry about later'

But the poor kid needs a 'place'

I finally brought everything out in to the lounge room and bagged it all up in big black garbage bags.
Took all my craft boxes out of his cupboard and tossed all clothes smaller then a 2.

Ok, i lie. See that box? The pink one...
Gahhh, I just cant part with it! Its full of bonds wondersuits (Sizes 0000? I have 10lbs+ babies! They were 0000 at 4 months in the utro!) And my comfiest of comfy maternity bras and singlets.
That box.. Well, Is not yet ready for a new family..

Aside from that, everything else is off to life line! Bouncers, walkers, bumbo, highchairs, rocker! Gone.

I spent 2 straight hours cleaning, scrubbing, sorting, throwing. One thing at a time. And holy shit! I feel ah-ma-zing! I can only imagine how Phoenix feels!

I read something one day.. I was along the lines of ..

Step One to de-cluttering- Clean everything at eye level.

So i started with my fridge. I found party bags from our April birthday party. Wedding favours from a February wedding. A telstra phone connection notice from December! A banana... Gag.

So now, there is nothing.
I then went over to the TV cabnet, where when sitting on the couch, we look directly at. I moved all frames to the book shelf (nicely) , Put all Hubbies Xbox games and controls in to the storage space below.
I then wiped down the shelves and TV.. and wola! 2 things to ease the stress and clutter. Simple.

So the cleaning of the atrocious out of control babies room was not step one.

Step one- Go clean the top of your fridge!

Ahh..Ahhh..Ahhhh....

" Ahhhh.. no no..
Im good.. Im good...
Dont sneeze..Dont sneeze..."

Were my thoughts whist walking the ailses of coles earlier. This is the 2nd time in the past 5 weeks ive been hit with this killer flu. Twice in 5 weeks might not seem so bad.. But considering the 1st one lasted 4 weeks then left stamping me with its 'smoker-like-cough' , it kind of sucks to be dealing with it again.

So now Hubby, baby and myself are all on antibiotics and every other multivitamin. My 2nd time round.

Ive seen quiet a few facebook pages owners suffering this flu too. Which got me wondering.
Do you feel like you work yourself to the ground? That you dont give your self time to recuperate?

I think the people of facebook-land forget sometimes that most of us are a one-mum-show.

We are not like Cotton on for kids or Pumpkin patch. We dont have staff.. we are staff.

We are the owner, the manager, the 2IC, the employee (who never gets employee of the month *sigh*) We are in control of stock and orders. We handle layby and refunds. We do posting and banking and occasionally pick up coffee. We are also mums and dads. We get the kids out of bed. We cook breakfast for a small tribe. We clean and prepair lunch and dinner. We are child minders, (some days of not only our children) when we are not sewing or networking.
On top of that we are ensuring our kids are happy, fed and napping. While they nap we work.

No wonder so many of us have 'Mummy-flu' !

When i decided to jump back in to the world of WAHM's i made a promise to myself and my kids. 'Facebookers - you get what i give' .. In the nicest way possible.

I refussed custom orders, i turned my head at demands, and i didnt stand for abuse. And so far, its working for me.

My reason behind 'mummy-flu' is self inflicted. I started to many little projects, taking up to many late nights.

So this mum is going back to basics. 8pm bed times, set projects and organisation.

I brought myself an expandable folder for all my unfinished projects and have lined them all up. When im better, they will get finished. Starting from front to back.

For my finished projects ive got baskets that all stacked along my shelf.
One side with uploaded { In Stock} goods. And the other side for goodies yet to be uploaded.

So.. While im taking time out, Everything is ready for my return.

WAHP's .. Please, Sit down. Have a cup of tea. Watch The Veiw. Save your self from being all snotted up like us!

Give your self 30 minutes of 'nothing' time. Every single day.

I have this friend..

I was cleaning up and cleaning out my facebook earlier today and came across a note i had written on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 8:48am.
I decided to be brave and tag 20 of our high school friends who i thought should see how i felt.

It started like how most of my other blogs start.

With a sleepless night, thinking about the one thing. Thats why you will generally find i blog in the morning. After next to no sleep. So excuse my randomness, Its sleep deprivation.

Here is what i found-

I have this friend.

Shes a pretty awesome friend.

I’ve been up since 3.30am just thinking about everything she has done for me, and i don’t even think she’s thought twice about it, It’s just her nature, it’s just what she does.

She’s a friend every single person should want and crave.

She’s just amazing. I met her when I was about 15-16 years old when she was a newbie to my high school.
I clicked with her straight away and knew she would be a friend for life.

After a few months of being at school she started to cop alot of shit of people who had no right to talk that way and should have had a good look at their life before teasing and being nasty.

It really started to hurt me, She was the best friend any one could want. She never spoke badly about people, even those who treated her like dirt.
And it wasn’t a nasty comment here and there, these people were down right hurtful and mean.

At 16 I didn’t know much about being jealous of others or feeling like people were better or lower than me, I was friends everyone! Friends with alot of boys and didn’t really care if a girl was prettier, or skinnier, or had better things then me.
I just enjoyed my teenage years and was thankful for good friends.

I copped so much for being overweight but fobbed it off because I had good mates who didnt see the kilos. I couldn’t for the life of me understand why so many people were so nasty to my friend.
She’s funny , she’s pretty, she’s thin, she’s nice, she’s caring! Shes talented! Why wouldn’t people like that?

I finally sat down with my mum one night and asked what she thought of my new school friend. Mum knew her back ground, knew what was happening at school and helped me understand the meaning of 'Jealousy'.

It was still hard to understand why the ‘Pretty’ and popular girls were still mean to her. Of all things i thought they would want to be friends with the other ‘pretty’ girl!
Then it clicked.

Those girls had a pretty face, but there inside were horrible. Inside they were ugly , mean, nasty and jealous.

They were Jealous that this girl could be gorgeous inside AND out.

No one knew her like I did , No one knew what her life was like, No one knew the stress she was under, and how sad her life at home was because no one bothered to ask.

She tried to make friends, she certainly didn’t have less friend’s thro lack of trying, She tried.

But the now ‘Ugly’ people didn’t give her the time of day.

I wonder if they look at her now and wonder what life would be like if they had just tried, If they had just hid their ugly side for just one single lunch break, To see the person I saw.

I wonder if they wish they had one good friend, someone they could trust with their deepest secrets or just someone they could ring when times got tough.
Now realise, she is the one you needed.

She’s made something of herself.

She’s still that ‘pretty girl’ I remember from school.

She still has that loud boisterous personality that make me laugh every single day, the smile that could stop you from crying when you thought you couldn’t even breath anymore.

And she still cares about people, sometimes more then she cares about herself.

Yesterday I saw yet another side of her.

It wasn’t the photo in the magazine, there wasn’t the face on the internet, there wasn’t the show on tv where she was the star, that i would always sit there and smile SO proudly!

I was out for lunch with mum and dad and for a split second I wondered what life would be like in her shoes. I wondered what it would be like to have this amazing life with this stunning body and all the opportunities in the world. Mum reminded me that jealousy will only make me ugly.

Then I heard my name. It was her.

Not in the trade mark bikini, not with her hair and makeup done, She was in her Surf Live Saving boardies and shirt.

My friend, One of my best friends is saving people’s lives.

How much more could one person give!? The girl who has stood by me for 7 years, who has watched me thro broken relationships, single motherhood, weight gain, weight loss, breakdowns and more is still putting her life aside for others.

She just reconfirmed how precious and rare these kinds of friends are.

It reminded me how much I love and adore her. I need to tell her more how much she means to me and my family. My whole family. My mum , my dad, my brothers and my children even my best friend.

I couldn’t ask for anything better.

Mandy, I could write pages and pages about what you’ve done for me, my family, my understanding of this bazaar life journey, but I don’t think I could ever find the right words to describe YOU.

Your everything a friend could want. You’ve saved me. You’ve brought me back from the darkest places and held me when I thought I was going down. I only hope I can do the exact same for you if things ever get rough.

Everyone needs one of you.

Your friend for eternity, Nic. xx

At times i think she needs to read this over and over. Untill it is set in stone, just how much she is loved.

From being teens sitting on the beach watching Powderfinger

To sitting on the river with my children and family , as my bridesmaid witnessing me marry my soul mate.

For everything you have done, weather you have realised it or not..

Thank you , I am blessed x

Just my day!

I can honestly say im not one that gets fussed over. Birthday type celebrations are usually left untill last minute or i plan my own gatherings.

I was pretty stoked with the way today panned out.

Aside from walking around Currumbin sancuary with a horrible flu, as a suprise from hubby. Im quiet happy to be back in my comfy pants with a nice vist from my parents and nan.

This morning started with a treasure hunt. Hubby left a note beside my pillow and when i woke i followed the clues.

Picking up my treasure along the way.

Im a big fan of baskets. I have so many i dont know what to do with them. But whats another one hey! Especially when its filled with delicious soaps and scrubs!

Ive wanted this book for so so long.

A public figure, opening speaking about her , like myself, hoarding issue. That takes courage!
I have come along way since my teen years of not being able to part with things. Everyday and another bag to lineline is another step closer to living a clutter free life.

And some self picked perfum by the main man..

We werent going to do a great deal today, Mr 26 cooked bacon and egg McFinneys for the family, but as Currumbin wildlife sancuary were offering free admission for a $5 donation towards the animal hospital, And mothers being free! We thought we would spend an hour there.

And honestly, an hour in to it i was walking death. So off we went back home.

With a lovley visit from my family to end the day brought comfort foods, chocolate and pressies.

Tonight is home made pizzas and early to bed.

I am so blessed.

I hope your mothers day was filled with love and memories.

Mum, For you...

My best friend Lucy and i seem to spot the most random things. Its usually something that will be a once in a life time. This is something my mum always finds funny.

We could be driving out of hungry jacks to find a car, at the traffic lights.. Attempting to litter. Only to close there door on the bag they left on the ground next to them.

Or the husband of a shop-a-holic, snoozing outside Kmart.

Or today, a lovely chatty man, not only taking advantage of Kmarts DVD section. But also testing their camping chairs.

And my mother. Finding a pair of metre high platforms and meeting a new best friend.

Mum.. When im with you i know there is always going to be trouble.

Your crazy, But I love you.

(Even when you dragged Lucy and i along to Elvis)

Bullies.

Ive sat here staring at the subject line for about 10 minutes, trying to think of the right way to name what im writing about.

Bullies, seemed fitting.

Last night i was confronted with a past deamon. And thanks to you. Im outting those who have bullied me.

Firstly, i am a big sufferer of anxiety. So this is far from an easy blog for me to be typing.

My thoughts of a bully are. Selfish, hidden, energy sucking and cowards. And with technology theses days, cyber bullying is far to commen. You have your sheild. Your computer screen. Your keyboard as your mouth, You can sit there and 'think' about your reaction. You can game plan. You can hide and you can run. They are bullies.

Last nights confrontation came with some low blows. Kicking someone while there down i believe the term is?

Throughout my life ive made very close knit friendships with a large number of people i schooled with. I was that person who didnt have just a small group of friends, i floated from place to place, befriending everyone who would smile back at me.

I was friends with the 'cool' kids, i was friends with the rebels, i hung with the boys and i made an effort with the new kids. I gave every single person the time of day. To me, no one could do a thing wrong, as long as they smiled at me.

I left school at 15. On a good note with my teachers. It was a mutual agreement. My social life, was affecting my grades. So they suggested i joined the work force. My parents agreed. 1 week after graduating grade 10 i started full time in a bakery studying a certificate 3 in management and part time in a daycare centre. I believe this is when the self doubt began.

Working with older people who belittled me. Management gave me the dodgey hours, layed blame on me, convinced me the wrong things were right. And i believed them. After over a year of 9 - 11 hour - 6 day a week shifts. Plus extras. I finally had a melt down. At 17, i crashed and burnt.

My self confidence was never the same again.

My childhood was amazing. My parents never spoilt us, but appreciated us. I have 2 brothers. One 5 years younger and one 7 years younger. All to the same parents. We spent every weekend at the beach, creek, park, road tripping. Yes, we had our family based issues, but they are for another blog.

I went from being a child, going on long drives with my family, to working myself to the ground, over night. Thats when i matured.

Throughout my childhood and teen years we didnt have the internet. I dont think Dad actually bought his first mobile phone untill about 10 years ago. Which really, is not long ago. And he still has the same number.

I remember seeing parents at school when i was about 10, on there mobile phones , thinking.. 'They must live close to the school to be able to talk n there cordless phone here!' And we didnt even have a cordless phone.

I discovered the internet when i was about 19-20 I got my first hotmail account. I had dabbled in internet based things with friends before then, but nothing that i relied on. From hotmail i joined myspace. I loved myspace. It was never critisied, it was always just fun.

Then at 23 i joined facebook. Biggest mistake of my life.

Through facebook i became friends with maby people. People who i wish i had never crossed paths with. And people who i will cherish forever.

This is when the bulling hit full swing.

I was always comforatable in my own skin. Even at 21 weighing 130kg. I was happy. I never compaired myself to others. All i cared about was me, my son, my family and my friends.

Then i met internet friends. People who would make such an impact on my life, that i could never forgive them. And thats not me. I am a very forgiving person.

I sat with hubby this morning and counted who i have met and lost, because of the internet. There are 6.

I layed in bed last night after recieving a hammering from one on my buinsess page and wondered what went wrong. Why, these 6 people decided they dont give a fuck. And made me there target?

Then it hit me. Every single one of these people i have stood up to!

I am not one for confontation, unless i am happy to cop the anxiety attacks, which you can imagine arent nice. So i dont stand up for my self often.

But these 6 people, have copped what i have to say about there bulling. And they didnt like it one bit.

Dear Number One- It was a short lived friendship. One that i enjoyed untill i saw your second personality. I had the time of day for you. I listened, i gave you advice, i stuck by your dessicions in life. But the second it didnt go your way. You were done. I know what you say about me to others. The people who you have also done this to, have told me. Now i have to repair there thoughts on me. It wasnt hard though. They could see im a good person. I have always admired your talent, but im disgusted at your ability to lie.

Dear Number 2- Its a shame you couldnt put your need for acknowledgement aside to enjoy some good friendships. I dont have much to say to you, or about you because i actually breathed a sigh of relief the day our friendship ended. And regained the trust and love from others who caught me when i fell. Still, your words, from behind your computer screen were cutting. And for that, i will never forgive.

Dear Number 3- I honestly thought we had a genuine friendship. Not just an internet based acquittance. But it seems you got wrapped up in the big world to quick and your way to get one step higher was to step on my back. Obviously thinking i would never know. So you and number 4 belong together.

Number 4- Ive got nothing to say to you. Just add me to the list of people who you tried to brainwash. But never suceeded.

Dear Number 5- What the hell went wrong. You were my inspiration, my creative boost when i needed it and i was your rock. You often belittled me, but i took it because i cared about you. I followed you through your buisness ventures, hiding your hurt, i could see someone i loved. Your have a kind heart underneath your obssions to be higher then others. My heart would thump when i saw your retaliation and i knew id already lost the fight. So i would admit defeat. The way a true friendship should be? No. I do miss you. But when i see others , still coping what you put me through it reassures me , it was the right deccision.

And finally number Six- The reason and post you have been anicipating.
You pushed me and pushed me to the point where i felt you wanted to know why i had been so distant , was so you could be in the loop. But what advice would you have for me? Nothing? Yu didnt have advice?
I trust little people. And you are not one of them. What you have done to me has prooved you are not one i trust. You say the weeks leading up to my wedding i was 'not a very good friend' Firstly, i was planning a wedding.. Stressful enough? Secondly, we have a 1 year old needing a possibly liver transplant? Not stressful enough for you? Thirdly , i take hold of my family as my mother, my best friend breaks down. Yet you still demand more from me. This is only a small scraping of what my life has been for the past 6 months. The rest you dont deserve to know.
I put my life on hold, my business, my self and everything that keeps me sain and happy, to focus peiceing family back together.. And plan a wedding.

Then i snap. My head can not take it anymore. I sit in the middle of a main road, In front of my own mother and scream to be hit. While beating myself until my body stops feeling the pain. And YOU wonder why i dont give you what you need. You ALL wonder why im distant?
Two weeks before the biggest one moment of my life i look like this. The pain of breaking my eye socket and cracking my forhead and cheek bones, was better then the pain i feel inside.

I had to explain this to my children. And my grandmother.

Oh, and the police to 'dropped in' to investigate a shooting in the next street... And my celebrant, 2 weeks out from my wedding.

These photos are there to remind me, i need to be stronger and have more faith in myself.

I am human.

Im not always this facebook funny who is a ball of fun. I am a person who is hurting. And while you have your computer screen to amour you , i have nothing. I have my hands. And my way to escape it is to feel other pain. Not the heart pounding sick feeling you give me.

So, to the 6 of you. Stop being such bullys. Big picture, What have i EVER really done to YOU, that has affected YOUR life? Have i spoke down of you? Have i stole from you? Have i had you feel so worthless with my choice of hurtful words and slandering?

I stood up to you! I gained that tiny minuscule amount of courage i keep for moments like this and i stood my ground. And, You didnt like that. So you kicked me in the back.

This is what ive become because of the path my life has taken. The people ive met, my relationships, the challenges im facing. But im learning to become a stronger person. And by telling my story, hopefully others, like me can stand up to the people who have no care for anyone other then themselves.

And to them, take a good, long hard look at yourself and your life. Are you happy inside as much as you are outside? No? Well change.

Repaired.

For a while there i was pretty broken. My head was a huge bowl of mushy thoughts, covered in horrible lumpy stinky gravy. Well, thats what it felt like anyways.

Im on my way to being repaired. And i have come to realise, my creative outlet is helping me get there. Ive set boundaries, I make rules and i make sure they are fair to me and the family.

For me Buttons Dior is not about making an 'income' as such for my family. To cover the cost of materials and perhaps make a small reward from my time doing it, is a bonus. For the money to be able to go towards bills and ensuring our kids have some finer things in life keeps me motivated but most of all , i meet these people. Who are just like me. Sitting in front of the glowing monitor, talking to others they will probably never meet. Or planning to meet those who are such an inspiration.

I dont 'get out ' much. For many reasons.

I have my soul sister who i would be merely a shell without. She has been my tower of strength, my birthing partner, my shoulder , my sanity killer ;-) , and my confidant. I see her more then i see my parents! She is someone i whole heartedly trust that she would do absolotly anything (Legal) for me or my family. And she knows i would do the same. Other then her, i have friends who live lives like me. Hectic, un organised and demanding. And i can appreciated that. So, i sit behind my screen, typing away , telling them im still here. I may not be the most reliable 'friend' at the moment. But give me time, im getting there.

With Lucy's help, On Sunday we piled all my stock in to my van and headed to The Upper Market http://www.facebook.com/theuppermarket .. Cassandra needed a hand with running her stall, So she could help the stall holders. I was more then happy to help. Initially i thought i would simply have a basket of hoppers to display. But 5 hours of sewing an a facebook ban, i was able to make myself a nice table of goodies.

Because i am so 'people deprived, I am aways fearful of being hated. Being judged for my tattoo's, being criticized over my work and life. And within 5 minutes of being there i literally said to her 'Everyone hates me'.

As the day went on and i actually got out from behind my table and met other people, Just like me, There to show the hard work and time gone in to putting there stock together and setting it all up. I came to realise were all the same. Looking for a small piece of gratification and good friendly chat. I am always 'exhausted' by the end of my days.

My body it tired and i ache for bed. But as soon as my head hit the pillow i start thinking. My days are full of running around, but im not mentally exhausted. After Sundays market, and 'working' .. I slept like a baby.

When i joined facebook, i never thought it would be my link to meeting so many different people. Back in the 'Myspace' days , accepting friend requests was merely a popularity quest. You had your select photos up that made you look perfect. You updated only the most fine updates. And you networked for more and more friends.. I guess thats what these fan pages have become?

I want Buttons Dior and Organised Chaos to be seen more then just a WAHM with a venture. Its my journal. I want to welcome people in to my life to see, They are not the only one.
Because i know when im reading my following blogs at the moment, i am constantly thinking.. I want to be like them.

Organised Chaos is my every single day. My unfolded / unironed clothes. My lack of storage space, My wet towel on my bathroom floor and my morning coffee still sitting on my computer table. My quest to have structure in my home, but realisation the kids come before laundry.

Master 5 came home yesterday after a few days with his dad and sat with me in our garage / kids room / office / sewing area. I asked him why recently he had been so distant. I felt as though he woke up at 7.30, leaves for school with hubby at 8.15 is home at 2.30 plays untill 5.30 eats dinner and goes to bed. I dont even 'talk' to him anymore.

He said to me 'Mum, my life is just so hard' .. I know most of you would think that was 'cute'.

But his lip quivered and 2 tears rolled down his cheek.

I snapped the lap top closed real quick and asked him why.
He said he has so many responsibilities. He has to make sure he gets enough sleep, he has to eat the breakfast we make, not the breakfast he wants. he has to go to school and remember alot of stuff.
He said he has to remember that it is not ok to hit other people. But when he is angry hes head gets 'messy' and he cant think about not hitting people because he gets to mad and frusterated. He asked me why it is ok for people to push him, and step on his fingers and yell at him, but he can not hit them. ( we have had issues with Master 5 being seriously bullied, with the result of him retaliating with hitting)
He went on to say, he has to remember his hat to be able to play, then when he gets home he helps with the babies, has to eat his dinner , do his homework and go to bed.

In his head and to my 5 year old. His life is hard.

I explained to him, i didnt realise he felt like he had to look after the babies. Hubby and I never make him responsible for any duties regarding them, nor do we leave him in charge of them. They are 1 and 2. He is 5.
I asked him what he felt was expected of him when it comes to his siblings. He said to me he doesnt like seeing them cry, or be in danger. What a heart hey?. We spoke more about it and i made it clear what 'being a brother' is all about and what our duties as parents were. I think hes going to enjoy being a brother alot more now.

After talking to him for about half an hour i brought hubby in to have a listen. Jett told us a few faults we had, and took on some advice we had for him. All in all, i think it was a huge step in the right direction for our family.

Last week i met for coffee with a friend of mine who for many reasons is my inspiration. Danielle from Five Little Reasons http://www.facebook.com/fivelittlereasons . We met when we were both pregnant with our now 2 year olds. In the short amount of time knowing each other we have had our fair share of dodgey friendships which took its toll on our friendship for quiet a few months. Im just very lucky to have her back in our lives. She is a great role model for my kids and is one for amazing advice and has such a huge heart. I could turn to her when im on struggle street knowing she wouldnt turn me away. I told her, Our family needs structure. Before i sort my clutter and finer details, i need routine and lists.

So, Weve started small. From 2.30pm to 7pm For those hours i have routine.
2.30pm School pick up time
2.45pm - 3.00pm afternoon tea and talk time. A chance for him to tell me about his day while its still fresh in his mind.
3.00pm - 3.30pm- Homework
3.30pm -5.30pm play time
5.30pm - 6.00pm Shower and Pj's
6 pm dinner time
6.30pm clean up time in bedroom while the 2 youngest are put to bed.
7.00pm - 7.30pm Jett & parent Time. Reading books, having some desert, talking about his ay..ect

And so far, its working really well!!

Throughout the day is still a jumble.. i sew when i can, i chuck a load of washing on when i remember. I do the mad dash on dishes , sweeping and toy collecting about 2pm.. So give it time and that will smooth out too. (According to Danielle..hehe)

My next step is to de-clutter and set sewing time. At the moment i am child free on Fridays. I dare say that will be my 'work' day. With a slight time allowance for my routine thrift shop run of a morning..

Initially i seperated Buttons Dior and Organised chaos. I was in the frame of mind that my 'buisness' should be keep professional and have nothing to do with what is actually happening when the machine is off. But thats not me. For to many years i hid away from showing the real me. Hiding behind designer wear and fake friends. Thats not me. Im a wife, a pretty shitty wife at time. Im a mum, i dont think you can screw that up to much as there were no tutorials to base it on before giving birth, and once your holding that tiny helpless being, you just become Mum..
Im a daughter that stands as a tower of strength to a mum and dad. And a sister who would move heaven and earth for 2 Men if they needed absolutely anything.

Im an unreliable friend who can be relied on in the most needed times. Im a facebook crazy with a daughter who makes me sigh and slap my forhead many times throughout the day yet keeps a smile on everyone face.
And i am a simple girl, trying everyday to overcome some demons paying awful mind games.

They go, when i am in front of my machine. When im sewing a line, hemming edges or cutting fabric, my worries are gone.

This is my life. This is how we live. And if your happy to tag along.. Then im happy to have 'ya!

Inspiration..

Should always flow with Motivation? Right?

At the moment i am totally overwhelmed with inspiration from other WAHP's just like myself.
The need to for fill the other role, then just being a parent. The hobby / business that sets you aside.

Ive taken some time over the past few weeks to kick back and read some blogs. Ive not come across some 'In the Spotlight' stories of people such as Tina from Georgie girl, Lilian from Lily Chic Events, Angie and Kristy from AnK Bowtique , Michelle from mishmash Designs , Suzannah Tucker Photography and MANY more that i frequent on a regular basis.

All of these work and home parents give me enormous inspiration, knowing in some way or another are just like me.

Wanting to provide for there families, in anyway possible. Wanting to create that outlet for the built up creativity. Meeting other parents weather it is 'in real life' of through cyber space.

Some days 'Facebook' is my only connection to the outside world! I can honestly go a whole day with having listen only to the people inside my home. Craving a phone call from an Indian man trying to help me fix the 'virus' on my PC...
The Internet gives me that option to see how others are doing.

Ive learnt a great deal about my fellow mums through their interviews and blogs.

Lilian from Lily chic events and Her husband, were blessed with their twin baby girls at 25 weeks. I actually had followed her story on Aurelia and Indiana through the facebook page Lil had set up to update friends and family. My youngest , Phoenix, is a special care baby and i felt her emotions like they were my own.

Tina, from Georgie Girl.. I Had always thought Tina was a Melbournite! Low and behold she is a Brissie Gal! Im based at the northern end of the Gold Coast, i wonder how close we actually are!
AnK are actually a duo!

I had always wondered how the name came about then after seeing Angie and Kristy in the spotlight on Madeit.com.au i finally found out the A is for Angie and the K is for Kristy! Learn a new thing hey!

And Michelle from Mishmash has a gorgeous family of 6 boys and a hubby! Talk about out numbered!

I thoroughly enjoy reading about how they started out, weather the started from scratch or were handed an awesome business opportunity on a silver platter. Because i know , with myself its been a hard hard road.
There have been times when i have completely given up. Thrown the towel in, And actually felt as ease about my decision. Then time mixed with ideas made me realise i could restructure what i didn't enjoy about what i did.. and turn it right around in to something that makes me more happy then any other hobby i do!

That's when i took a different direction.

To me Buttons Dior is a celebration of vintage, time, feeling and buttons. I hand design and craft one of a kind pieces with the first thought that comes to me. I can not and will not make bulk lots of items. And i very rairly take custom orders.
I don't have the time or energy and that is how i failed before. But you learn, you make mistakes and you love the lessons that come because of it.

I give myself no time frame. I can have up to 30+ projects in motion, placed in a expandable folder waiting for there time to be completed. Once they are done, they are any ones.
Sometimes auctioned, sometimes sold, sometimes gifted.

So now i come to my point, i read these blogs over and over, i live a part of the exciting life they have through the Internet, there photos amaze me. I have the power to make my life more content and sorted. Now if anyone knows of a madeit.com.au seller that sells motivation.. Please let me know! I would love to read there blog.

Mum / Wedding Planner / Future Prime Minister!

Well, maby not the last one. But what us mums are capable of , brings us enough life experience that we should be able to run for President!

For the past 5 months ive spent looking after a new member to our family, born with some unfair health issues. Running a house hold with 3 kids under 5. Birthdays , celebrating Christmas and moving house on Christmas eve!
Being a rock to many friends in need. Especially a close family affected by the devastating Toowoomba floods. By my self and with the resources i have through my page Spreading random Acts of Kindness ( www.facebook.com/sraok) I managed to raise close to $6000 for a Anita and Al who lost there home, farm and livelihood. An intense few weeks of my life, that involved alot of time away from the family. And i can honestly say there are very few i would probably go through it again for. But they were defiantly deserving.
Ive charged through some extreme emotional issues and rough family times. I helped my gorgeous 5 year old through his first day of grade one and my little miss through her 1st day of kindy. My partner and i changing roles, He is now a full time stay at home dad and im back in the work force full time. And that was all in the last 2 months..

And i planned my wedding.

For those of you thinking about planning your own wedding.. Dont. LOL

Well, if you have a less hectic and busy life then us, then DO IT.
Its an awesome experience, but if your tight on time and energy.. then hire a planner.

What i didn't realize at the time of planning was come crunch time, i am the one they will all turn to for the run down. Bombarded with calls and emails left right and center.

From the finer details to the bigger picture, the vows, the table set ups, the hired goods, the baby sitter, the cars, the time frame, the plans.. everything! And that im fine with. But when ive just spend 5 months putting all my energy in to buying and sourcing every last detail for the big day from table runners and center pieces, bonbonaries and place settings. Suits and dresses, shoes and jewelery! Wedding dress delmar's and postage dramas.
I needed another 'me' to handle the dead lines.

Mr 26 had one job. MUSIC. Get some good tunes for us. Which come crunch time.. he came through with the goods.

For those of you interested, or planning your wedding, here is a run down on how far ive come. I haven't added all the finer details, but will so after the big day!

Ill start with the significance of our day. Which i will continue in another entry (I get a little teary)
We are marrying on My grandfathers birthday. Our dates of birth are 3 days apart. And for how ever long i can remember we have always celebrated together. Whether is be Both on his day or both on mine. It was always together. We lost grandad suddenly nearly 3 years ago and with my nans blessing, she allowed us to share our day, with his.

Now! To the shoes!
Master 5 has wanted DC's for about a year now. But as were not really into the whole 'brand name' scene we thought we would hold off. 'He' thought it would be a good idea to have a pair for the wedding. And seen as tho 'Going out shoes' would never get much use again, we agreed that this would be the perfect time for them.
Bargain buys! Master 5's Pinstriped pants were a return to Target, They weren't actually ever stocked in the particular target we shopped at that day. It was total fate that there was 1 pair, in His size, on that day!

I sware on my life the postie saw me leave the house and he danced up my driveway like a pansy and lightly layed this by my door step. Frolicking back to his van laughing at the fact he still had my

Our Reception venue.
Troi Hilder from Green Mount beach resort has been fan-fricken-tastic with helping me arrange the reception.
We have chosen to have a buffet dinner as our guest list started at 130 people! And after culling and cancellations we've managed to bring it down to a more suitable amount. So the buffet will cater for all food preferences.

Troi took mum and i through a reception set up a few hours before there arrival to see if we like the way it would work and we loved it! I took the photo from the dance floor in front of the bar area.
(The missing chair covers were used on there ceremony chairs.
And our theme is Black, Red and White)

Troi has kept the Saturday before hand free for my army of women to come and attack his venue! Ladies, high on coffee and adreiline.. This is going to be awesome.
My MOH and i are then staying the night (Same bed..Wooot) And will start the day with a delish buffet breaky before the fun really begins!
